So I picked up a Simrell titanium sandblasted a week ago, and I couldn’t be more pleased. To be honest, I have a hard time putting the thing down, not because of use, but in terms of it’s beauty and simplistic design.
It it did take me a few days to get used to it —especially the flame distance —but once I did, I am absolutely impressed by the smooth and immediate vapor.
As far as the price goes, for what you get – a portable non-battery powered thermal extraction device that will last forever—how can you complain?
Essential for using the Simrell with the WPA. Nice engraving. It does the job of keeping fingers cool while handling the hot vape. But it is very small, fits loosely, defies adjustment and feels cheaper than the $10 price would suggest.
This small adapter is perfect for using the patented Simrell Vortex sleeve with a wide variety of vape ovens from Dynavap, Mad Heaters, etc.
Protects the finish of my Simrell Titanium Vortex by taking it out of the equation when using a bong. It's an easy swap that improves the draw through glass.
The build quality and machining is top-tier! American-made Ti is just better than the cheaper stuff coming out of China, full stop (looking at you Tempest 2). The performance is also better than the Tempest 2. Sure, the bowl is smaller, but clouds are just velvety smooth in a way that's hard to pin down. TL;DR I reach for my Ti Simrell instead of my Tempest 2 these days!
To me though, when I pay a premium price for a high-end product, I also expect a premium experience, yet fulfillment has been wonky. This order included the sandblasted Vortex, thread protector, case, and cooling stand. The wonky part was that at least one of my packages, I think the prior order for the Sherlock, was filled with packing peanuts, specifically, the non-biodegradable Styrofoam variety. I didn't know anyone still used Styrofoam packing peanuts! And then, whoever screwed on the thread protector did so insanely TIGHT. It took several hours in the freezer and even though I was careful I was so afraid of damaging the threads and finish before I got to use it. Lastly, my order was incomplete because they didn't include the protective sleeve. Thankfully, Ben from the Customer Support team answered my email immediately, was very kind, apologized for the mistake, and my sleeve is in the mail free of charge. While I am grateful to Ben and very please with the Ti Simrell, my overall experience fell short of my expectations.
